Midland Morning Rotary Club Recognizes Bartos for Vocational Service

MIDLAND, MICHIGAN -- Each year, the Midland Morning Rotary Club recognizes a community member who has given time and resources to the community through their vocation. The 2008 Vocational Service Award was presented to John Bartos.

Bartos has long been a champion in forging strong business and education partnerships. As a lifelong resident of the Midland community, he strongly believes in business leaders giving back to the community in the form of experiential education to our youth. He practiced this philosophy throughout his career at Three Rivers Corporation. Through his involvement with Associated Builders and Contractors, he has seen to it that training programs are available for area youth, and continues to advocate opportunities that will enhance the quality of life for our future workforce.

“John understands the importance of business and education partnerships, and actively fosters these initiatives in our community,” said Rotarian Bob Lofiego, human resources manager with Three Rivers Corporation.

Bartos continues to serve the community as a volunteer leader in several organizations including MITECH+, Big Brothers, Boy Scouts of America, Blue Water Angels, MidMichigan Innovation Center, Junior Achievement, Juvenile Care Center, and many more.

“We are pleased to recognize John’s contributions. Through his leadership and example, he has inspired many in our community to get involved and realize their full potential,” shared Ann Fillmore, president of the Midland Morning Rotary Club.

Rotary International is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide, who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
